You can install the ThorUI AU and set it up to not download any features if you want.
Therefore for your needs I would recommend installing the ThorUI AU
Setup to download the features you want
You can also setup the ThorUI AU to automatically launch EQ2Maps
Then setup EQ2Maps to autolaunch EverQuest II
That way you just start with ThorUI AU (get all the updates that pertain to you) then EQ2Map starts (Get all the map updates) then EverQuest II starts and you can play knowing you have all the required updates for your EQ2 interface mods.
That way you only have to worry about any other mods that you get manually from other interface authors.
