minor annoyance, but each time I log in and have to press the 'alt-~' key to bring up that window.. the volume lvl is always set funky.

The sound and graphic stuff are all inside the directory video. You can manually edit the sound xml files there for your default volumes. and there's a readme along with an exe of how to do your custom graphics.
