Moving the hotbars was an extreme aggravation! I'm not even sure how I finally was able to move them.

Why are there no less than 3 displays for anything I target? And these are all over the screen.

Decorative 'frames' around target displays cannot be removed with any command.

Hide Hotbar button only hides one and it's the primary only, I think.

How do I know for sure that I have the right resolution chosen? See no option to select this anywhere.

*If I install 2.5.2, will all the work I've done on getting this operating as I wish be saved or do I have to go through all this again?

What is the meaning for three rectangles in a line? One shows my status, the others show targets, but a mouse-over on any of them (even with something else targeted) reveals a pop-up with more info on my character. I think there is some redundancy going on.

The upper left corner display features are nowhere explained. Nothing shows on mouse over. Concentration bar uses colors for default exp progression. The XP bar (or data) makes no sense to me at all. Also, I dislike the pixelated numbers and text and the percentages of whatever mean nothing to me.

On one display (possibly pet status) red type is used on a neon green bar. This is a major no-no in graphic design as it will activate red/green color-blindness in many male players. Doesn't effect me, but I know many who would be. Also, red type on green (while complimentary colors) is discordant, but the font is so small, the green + red blend making brown and unreadable.

The italic, brush font I dislike very much--especially when I have to see it in all those redundant status displays.

HO flashing display is locked in place directly behind where main chat goes! I have to move chat somewhere else???

help, please

thanks

You can have more than three hotbars open. Right click one of the open ones and select the proper choice to get more. I have like six hotbars open at any given time.

Moving hotbars is, indeed, tricky. When I need to shuffle them around I just move one of the skill icons out of the way and use the empty square to drag the hotbars.

The "block of stuff" that appears when you click the clock is a set of timers. You can stretch the window out a bit and you'll see more options for setting various lengths etc. For more explanations look for Mother's Timer Window - there's a link on the Profit download page.

I'm not sure what you mean by only having 3 displays when you target something.

I haven't seen any decorative frames around target that didn't look like they belong there either but try to play with the Frame settings in the window option. There's a dropdown there that has up to three choices ranging from no frame at all to frame & titlebar.

I've never tried to hide hotbars so I'm not sure what the problem is with that either.

There is no "right" resolution for this UI. It's adaptable to most resolutions. I know some windows can be tricky to move around but all of them *are* movable so just spend a few minutes cursing at the screen and you'll get it right hehe. I play at 1600x1200 and have my own little setup, including the letterbox thingies so it's all down to how you want it to look. There's no *need* to use the ini files that comes with the download, though. You won't miss out on anything if you don't use them.

If you install the latest version you will not lose any setup you've done with the windows. Some windows might be locked or have Click Through enabled but the positioning will be the same unless you decide to use one of the default ini files.

The three rectangles is You -> Target -> Target of Target. And yes, a certain amount of redundancy it is so hide it if you don't want to use it. I personally love it since it can sit nice and snug near my chatwindows and hotbuttons so I can keep an eye on things without having to look to the top of the screen but hey, the UI is mucho adaptable so hide it if you don't use it hehe.

The upper left display holds your experience gain numbers. Depending on how your frame options are set (Frame, Frame & Titlebar etc) you will either see a long row of fancy colored numbers (your tradeskill, adventure, guild, advancement point - experience displayed in % ) that you can mouse over to see your current personal status, runspeed, power and health regen etc. If you have Frame Only (or possibly "None" - I forget, typing from memory) it will be locked on the runspeed/regen page and mousing over will not do anything (xp display will be hidden).

The pixelated font is a matter of taste really and I'm not extatic about it either but I can live with it. The rest of the UI is fantastic so I can deal with that hehe. You can change it but that requires a lot of fiddling with fonts and xml code so I can't help you there - not quite sure how to do it myself. Same goes for the italic brush font - it's changable but someone smarter than me will have to explain how it's done.

Pet window is nothing that I use but you can always revert back to the original petwindow by browsing into your ProfitUI folder and deleting the file named like so: eq2ui_mainhud_pet.xml. Deleting that file will load the default petwindow next time you log on.

If your HO window seems unmovable make sure that the boxes in the Window Options labled "Locked" and "Click Through Enabled" are *not* ticked. The click through thing has a tendency to make things a bit frustrating in any UI hehe. Either do it the next time someone fires a HO or press F10 once to make all on-screen windows visible. Press F10 again (I think twice) to bring the ui back to its normal state.

Phew, that's all I can help you with. I understand that it's aggravating and frustrating but once you get the hang of it it's not that hard. Also, gm9 is a player just like you and is doing all this work volountarily and on his free time so even if you feel annoyed try to be gentle.
