1- Install
Mook Login and follow the instructions to put in your password and character names.
2- When there's a patch to download, run EQ2.exe, accept the EULA, enter your password, and patch, as normal. When done patching, exit the patcher instead of hitting Play.
3- When there's no patch (or you're done patching), just run
Everquest2.exe instead of EQ2.exe.
