I've fixed the compass problem a while back - will appear in next update.
As for the font issue, I've explained somewhere else about this - the only way for ANYONE to get away from this issue is to use monospaced fonts.
We have to work with 2 sets of data here.
e.g. 28 and 81 - this would infact be 28.1, as you can see we have to "hide" the 2nd 8
