Maldarian, sounds like one or more of the following:
1) Your eq2.ini file is not setup properly. Make sure he skinname matches your UI subdirectory. Also try reversing the order of the 2 lines of code. Only those 2 lines should be in the files.
2) For some unknown reason, some systems don't properly extract the images files. Make sure there's an images directory under the custom UI directory. It should contain several images and sub directories for icons and maps, each of which should also contain images. If images are missing, you can manually drag them from the ZIP into the proper directory. Directory paths should be listed in the ZIP.
3) Another common issue not properly installing EQ2MAPs. A link to the EQ2MAPs autoupdater can be found in the first post of this thread.
