It may sound like a joke - but how about a notice that you have mail without having to run to a kiosk just to find out you got nothing. I would still run to a mail kiosk to recieve it IF I knew I had some. Is there a command or some sort of notice that would give an alert similar to "You've Got Mail!"

The game shoudl already tell you. You are supposed to get an icon that shows up in your EFFECTS window.
