This and the persona bar were the only things I didn't like with this amazing mod. Dadditude's Persona Window fixed one of those, and the other fix was very easy...
what I did was just open up "eq2ui_mainhud_groupmembers.xml" in notepad and take out all the auto-assist buttons. They'll look like this:
"<Button BackgroundOpacity="0.000" Name="Assist" OnPress="/assist group_member_1
autoattack='1.0'" ScrollExtent="107,15" Size="107,15" Style="/Fetish.ButtonStyles.invisible"></Button>"
There's one for each group member, so 5 of those lines to delete all together. This is the first thing I do w/ each new release now. Now this mod is perfect for me. Hope this helps
