Failed to download database
Since downloading the newest version of eq2map, I've not been updating at all. I keep getting this message every time I try to run it:
Checking database Failed to download database Error downloading file: extrafile_list.xml The operation has timed out Using cached database scanning installed files No updated files No new files Update done Now granted , it's probably the fault on my end trying to update the installer. I had taken a 9 month hiatus from the game so was pretty rusty on trying to install. That said, how do I correct this? Any help is appreciated! Thanks! |
Looks like a firewall issue.
See if the center window contains a error message, else it should look like this: http://www.eq2interface.com/downloads/full5706.jpg |
Same problem
I am having the very same problem. As suggested, I suspect it is a firewall issue. I am using McAfee. Can anyone suggest what needs to be changed in McAfee to correct the problem?
Thanks |
have the same prob here, but it has nothin' to do with the firewall (using outpost firewall) ... i didn't do any changes to it and it worked well last night
|
Im sorry, i don't know what else to do :(
I can't reproduce this error at my end:( |

All network errors is shown in the status window.
They are not program related. Look here and see if anything helps. http://www.eq2interface.com/forums/s...7043#post67043 |
Problems
well since all my other internet and online apps are working correctly i'd problably have to say there is an problem with this particular program.
I'd really like to get this going, the suggestion from the other thread wasnt useful. I have disabled all my firewalls, The one in windows and the one on the router and still no joy. Qilen |
I was having same issue on my gaming laptop (which I sometimes use for work too). I had no issues on my main gaming PC. So, I began to think it is something with the setup. As it turned out, the settings in my Internet Explorer were using Internet Properties->LAN Settings-> Use automatic configuration script (and the value was http://wpad/wpad.dat). As soon as I unchecked this option, everything got fixed.
Hope this helps. Cheers :D |

Try the EQ2MAP part of EQ2 Henchman. If it updates EQ2MAP then you probably have something blocking jnils's application from accessing the web. |
