This will show you how to make a tooltip that shows rare forage nodes when you hover over the ? (help button next to the close button) in the Inventory window.

Open UIBuilder
Open your eq2ui.xml in your modded interface directory

open the
+Inventory
+Inventory (again)
Click WC_HelpButton
Doubleclick Tooltip in the Object Properties section

paste this into the window that pops up


Tier 1
Bronze Cluster, Rough Lapis
Copper Cluster
Yarrow
Severed Alder
Low Quality Badger Pelt


Tier 2
Blackened Iron Cluster
Silver Cluster, Rough Coral
Sisal Root
Severed Bone
Average Quality Badger/Armadillo Pelt


Tier 3
Steel Cluster
Rough Jasper, Palladium Cluster
Dandelion Fiber
Severed Fir
Medium Quality Badger/Beaver Pelt


Tier 4
Feysteel Cluster
Rough Opal, Ruthenium Cluster
Oak Roots
Severed Oak
High Quality Lion Pelt


Tier 5
Ebon Cluster
Rough Ruby, Rhodium Cluster
Figwarts Root
Severed Cedar
Superb Quality Manticore/Dire Wolf/White Wolf Pelt

hit the OK button
File-Save
Close out and your done! Hovering over the ? in your inventory will show the text above.

I don't really understand what this is supposed to do, or where to look at it in the game. Could you describe it a little better?

this changes the tooltip that shows up when you hover over the ? (help button) in the inventory window next to the X (close button). The displayed text will be that big list of rares.

woah, hold on. Does that mean if the thing is in fact a rare, it shows you such before you harvest it? if so we'd have alot of people looking around at them and not getting them if they thought it wasnt a rare...

think it displays the *list*of rares, when you hover of Help, SoE would have fit if it did what your thinking :P

I dont have a eq2ui.xml in my mod folder? And It dosent work If I just copy the one from default folder and edit that?

Or maybe I dont know how to use it. I open INV and there are the harvested stuff. Then what?

Good Idea I am going to ad that one.
I am pretty used to what I gather in antonica and would notice a rare if I got one now, but when I was new, I was forever looking at this print out every time I got something I hadn't seen before.

I'm about to start into the thundering steeps, so it will be nice to have the list available like that.

How about around Freeport
 
This list does not look like it includes stuff around the Freeport area. Is there a list that includes rares from that side of the world?

the rares and non rares are pretty much the same from both sides of the world. You might get a deer pelt in one and a bear pelt in the other but the key part is wether it is sullied or non sullied, medium or high or average or whatever.
