Removing Chat Channels?
1 Attachment(s)
Greetings All,
I am using the current version of Fetish Nightfall, and have a question about the chat channel option. Is there a way I can remove Chat Channels that my character cannot use? For example, when I created a new character and I had the option to use a current characters settings, I chose that characters setting, but it also imported the chat channels I cannot use. If I try to modify the .ini settings for the character and remove those channels, either my UI is all messed up or the EQII won't load. Please see the attachment so you can see what I mean. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Wulfemeister |
I know it sounds kinda silly, but have you tried /leave <channel> ?
|
Yes I have, and it says "You are not in the channel".

In the screenshot you posted, you'll notice all those custom evil_xxx channels. Select them and click the "Leave" button from there. Not possitive but I think that will actually remove them from the list.
FYI, I've also been having issue lately with channel changes not being saved, so it might be a bug on SOE's end. For example, the 60-69 channel keeps resetting to my Main Tab when I relog even though I've moved it to a different Tab. Neither I or SOE have changed the window and I know previously you'd only get that "Not allowed" message when first importing another toons settings. |
This may help you as well as others here but I am notusing profit UI and I also have that same trouble, I don't use full default ui but I have several pieces. When I create a new character or share ui settings using the /load_uisettings command. I get stuck with channels I don't/can't use, can't join and can't leave. The channels I do want (have a few custom channels) disapear and are stuck with the same number...The one channel I always type /1 for has suddenly become /8 and no matter what I try I can't fix it! Also when I take off a level specific channel box then relog, I need to again remove that level checkmark again no matter which toon I use.
This has been driving me nuts for days. Im sure hoping someone has some idea of what it could be! :nana: |
EQ2 UISettings Spy or EQ2 Chat Control will remove unwanted chat channels that can't not be removed via normal ways.

assimilate Fetish - check so who's left? :p |
Landiin,
I tried both of those programs and they worked great! Thank you for suggesting them! Wulfemeister |
Another thing to do if someone needs. You get that when you load another characters UI settings. Go back to Character you copied settings from, turn off all chat channels, let it save then go back to other character and reload settings.
