manual texture settings

anyone know what/if any the commands are to change the texture resolution settings are?

i'm looking to add a couple buttons to the dressing room ui window so i can quickly flick the char texture setting to max, take my ss, then drop it back down to my normal play mode.

That setting is stored in your eq2_recent.ini and should be called cl_charactertextureshrink. I haven't tried anything with it but I'm guessing 0 would mean the highest resolution mipmap and 5 would mean the lowest.

Hehe, when you say quickly you mean about 30 seconds to load the textures and then another 30 seconds to unload them? (On my computer.)

Since you can show more than just characters in that window, you will want both of these:
cl_textureshrink
cl_charactertextureshrink
As you said, 0 is the highest setting. ProfitUI uses 3 for the raid settings, but possibly you can go down to 5, just test it in game.

Oh, I forget how many texture levels there are. Maybe 4 is the lowest?

I have got no clue really, except that I thought I was using the lowest setting for my raid settings. But has been a loong time that I looked at that. I did not need those settings anymore since I built my new computer beginning of this year. :p

bingo! exactly what i was looking for.

yes, the men selections are
0=max
1=high
2=med
3=low
4=min

but i was able to manually push the textures much MUCH lower, i got down to 7 when i stopped noticicing any further compression (the world was all very flat colors)

and on my system the texture change is only a few seconds, <5 ish. but my video card has alot of memory on it (either 256 or 512, dont remember, but far too much for a video card) and i have 2g of memory in the box so...
