error in loading
 

I have been using this program for quite some time. I dowloaded the EliteUI and had few issues. I started having problems with the UI after the latest patch, so I removed it (I am now using the default UI).

My map constantly shows "world map" at this point.

What I have done:
1) uninstalled .NET 2.0 beta and installed .Net 2.0
2) Revmoved all updater files and reinstalled (many times)
3) Rechecked (several times) to be sure all traces (that I could recognize..being realitvely computer challenged).

Here is the message I get when I try to launch updater:

EQ2MAP_Updater.exe has enchountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" and another small box (blank with the title error updating) appears.

this is as far as I can get.

I know it is probably a id10t (is what the IT guys at work call UE -user error issues) issue.

Have you installed .NET 1.1?

i installed 2.0

Install 1.1 and see if that helps. Not all .NETs are created equal hehe.

ok new problem now
 

I removed .net 2.0 and installed 1.1
I removed all eq2 map updater files
I downloaded eq2 map updater


now I get the error:

Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.

Process id- 0xd10 (3344), Thred id-0xe04 (3588)


suggestions?

Hmm. Not sure why it's doing that.

What version of windows are you running?

windows xp home
