Need to make it so we can show loc (not POI's) from a link in EQ2 wiki (Was eq2i.com)
Hello.
I do alot of editing on the EQ2 Wiki (was eq2i.com). The problem is, for quests, they have locations you need to go, but they aren't POI's. I could, of course make the POI's for them, but it seems like it would be easier all around to let use make links that have the loc in it. You do have the find loc marker on the maps list, but I don't want to have to hack something thats not official and could get changed next time you update your software or something. I'm just trying to link everything up in the EQ2 wiki, since it seems sort of pointless to have the quest loaded, then you have to manually put in the loc so you can find it on the map, when it should just all be a click away. I mean, isn't that the point of the web? Hyperlinking? Maybe i'm just too old for how people do things these days, but seems to me, it would be simple to implement, and even useful. |
I'm not sure what you are asking for; A POI that will open the browser to the quests page (possible) or a link on the web page that would put an X on the map to where you need to go( not possible)?
If it is the former; we do plan on doing this but it will be after the new map system that SOE is developing is released. If it is the later; it isn't possible for a link to interact with UI. |
The idea was for quests that say to go to this area, but not a specific location.
But I realised that making a POI for it works just as well, since there wasn't that many cases where it really mattered much. |
