I was thinking the other day how easy it would be to write a simple app to generate xml scripts for my raid window.

This is going to be a great app and it is awesome of you to take the time to do it. I am going to check it out later tonight. Thanks again.

Maybe over time you can get all of the other main UI package raid windows adapted to this and dominate the raid UI windows. :)

Remember that my app also rearranges the whole window (frames and other stuff) to fit with X-ammount of buttons or group X-offset.
It was't that easy :p

Oh, this looks cool--I can hardly wait to try it out.

For those of you who don't have or want to install PhotoShop/PaintShopPro/Gimp just to view the DDS files and look for the appropriate icon, here's nVidia's little DDS viewer:

Why .NET 3.5 beta?
160 MB Framework download to write some XML? :(

i am 99% sure that i do not have .NET 3.5 beta, i havent downloaded any .NET updates for quite some time and i dont use windows update... oh and it works fine here =)

It's just that the xml-handling (LinqX ftw) is so great :p
You might be able to use it with just .net 2.0 or 3.0, not sure.

Thanks for the info, I have 2.0 and it works partially, meaning that I can run the application, but I cannot save templates or XML files since I am missing the System.Core and System.Xml.Linq. I however believe that you are allowed to freely distribute these files with your application (although you'd probably need System, System.Xml and all the files containing assemblies that you used) as well.

I will try with 3.0 and see how it goes. :)

Could you maybe supply a sample output file? I'm craving such a modded raid window for quite some time, yet was too lazy to really get into the XSD of the UI.

Is there any way to get the players name to appear at the beginning of the line instead of the end? I'd like to be able to make the raidsay when I goto rez or heart someone witty, and having the name at the end limits my ideas

I seem to be a newb at getting the icons to work with this. when I put the X and Y in all I get in my raid window are white blocks where the icons should be. Should I not be using the .dds files from the default UI folder when I'm using a custom?

make sure the path is pointing to a valid file. I had to d/l a seperate program so I could view the .dds files then make sure I had the right x & y

Is there anyway for more than 3 buttons?

I know the tool only allows for 3 buttons but I am wondering if the actual xml file can be modified for say 6 buttons? I am using one as a raid fury that allows 2 direct heals and HoT but I would also like to be able to just watch the raid window to see when I need group heals also. It would also be nice to be able to battle rez from there also with a raidsay statement.

Any idea if this is possible using the output of your app as a template or is there a physical 3 button limit to the raid window?

oops hit reply on the wrong web page lol. Something like this for group window would be awesome too. I have just switched raiding toons so need to figure out what I want to be able to cast on non group members to try this out

I have 2 raiding toons. Both need different buttons in raid window. Now I am manually changing "eq2ui_mainhud_raid.xml" to UI folder according what toon I plan to raid.

Is there some way to make UI load right raid-window button-setup automatically? I use Profit UI.

even after the download of netframework 3.5 (160MB) it doesnt work.

It tells me that assembly system.xml.linq version 2.0.0.0 and/or dependence to it wasnt found
But in a manually research i found the assembly.
Got any suggestions how to solve this prob ?

the "Necro raid window for Profit UI - Ratzy edition"

There was no prob with generating the xml.

Maybere there is a small bug in the raidwindow customizer.

I enjoy your utility and thank you for the work you did making it easy for us that don't know how to make mods. I notice though when I cursor over a nem in the raid window it doesnt show thier class. Is that a bug, by design, or am I missing a support file?

Sorry for my lack of posts.
I make most of my stuff for myself or my guildies, but i like to give everyone a chance to use them, even if I don't provide much support for them.

I think you need to download the latest .net Framework 3.5 Beta 2 setup.
It was compiled on the first orcas beta (.net 3.5 beta 1) so I might need to recompile it and upload it again.
