Can I make my "playing area" bigger?
When I'm playing it seems having any of the windows open (map, quests, inventory, etc) takes up a HUGE chunk of my screen.
I've searched through the EQ2 options and haven't found anything. |
Download mods that take less screen space, nothing else you can do.

Increase your games resolution. /shrug

Resolution can help
I won't play on anything less that 1600 X 1200. I don't notice the problem you are referring to. My map takes up a very small portion of my screen, and my tracking window even less. Try raising your resolution to the next step up, or try small window mods as previously suggested.

I'm new to all this...so still learning the UIs for EQ2..
What can I use that has smaller windows? I'm also going to try upping the resolution. |

/sigh no such thing as 'upping'. I don't now why this has become a mainstream word in our society now. |

Confused by your post Landiin.
You correctly described how to make something bigger or larger. I was referring to the poster above me...the OP. |
cant increase resolution and I dunno what mods would help with window size

Browse through the "Interface Pieces" download categories or search the downloads and look for mods that have keywords similar to these in their descriptions:
- no wasted space - slimmed down - condensed - minimal - tiny - small ...etc. Most of the windows like that have had the titlebar removed and the window contents shifted and condensed to take up as little space as possible. I've tried to do this with several my most recent mods (bags, journal, knowledge); you can see what I mean by browsing them. (Just follow the "Interface Author" link to the left, or click the "Seagoat's UI Mods" link in my sig.) If you don't want to install a custom UI piece by piece, take a look at the "Complete Sets" download category; you should be able to tell by the pictures provided whether one of them might be what you're looking for. (All of the interface downloads on this site have some sort of image that will show you how they differ from the default UI, so you should be able to tell at a glance whether a certain mod will suit your requirements.) Hope this helps point you in the right direction. |
