UI Modifications on Test Server
I play on test now. However, my mods do not work on the test server, i updated the eq2.ini correctly, it isnt a txt file, i have the text within the ini correct. i have ll my normal mods from live servers in the folder within the UI folder (just like my live server mods). But it wont work!
Help! Anyone had this problem? |
Mine work fine.
Are you sure you have everything correct within the TestServer directory? |
shouldnt everything be identical? shouldn't the eq2.ini be exactly the same?
shouldn't the only difference be that it is in \testserver\ folder? i'm SO frustrated... please someone. before i hurt myself. |
Make sure your eq2.ini file in in the testserver folder and your ui files are in the testserver/ui/<your custom ui folder name> and you should be fine.
|
they are. and i'm not. :(
i dont understand why it isn't working correctly. |
Did you just switch over and they don't work there? or..
Did you move there a while ago and they suddenly don't work? I started a couple guys on there during that insane F-up when regular servers were down for so long, and everything worked fine that I had. |
I switched over, and they don't work there. They are fine on live, and I have them setup IDENTICAL to the live servers. The EQ2.ini file in \testserver\ is identical to the one in the root directory. \testserver\ folder has a UI subdirectory with a \testui\ folder within it. (the same refrenced in the eq2.ini)
The .xml's are within the \testui\ folder. Just as they should be. It just, doesn't load. |
I'm stumped. :(
|
your eq2.ini says \testserver\ui\ or \testserver\testui\ ?
|
There was a few ui changes in the big patch that mightve messed it up...

Code:
cl_ui_subdir UI/ |
Correct. The subdir UI/ should reference the subdir of the directory it is already in, correct? There is no /testserver/ in my eq2.ini
:/ i have no clue how it could not be working on live, but not test, set up identically. |

in game if you do a /loadui is it listed? If not you have it in the wrong place or you don't have a eq2ui_skin.xml file included.
from the way I take it you directorys look like this ? Code:
\testserver |
If I do loadui the bottom window contains supportedskin but nothing else so I guess I've borked the location.
My directory structure looks more like this: sony: contains everquestii and station everquestii: contains testserver ui and others testserver: contains ui and others ui: contains default fonts mapmod and eq2map my eq2.ini is in the testserver folder and looks like: cl_ui_skinname mapmod cl_ui_sundir UI/ any help would be greatly appreciated |

My actual EQ2.ini is as follows: cl_ui_skinname mods cl_ui_subdir UI/ and this file is in the eq2/testserver directory, where your character .ini files are located my testserver modded ui directory is named Mods and is under the /testserver/UI directory tree: E: ---EQ2 (THIS is where another copy of the eq2.ini can be found for LIVE server) ------Testserver (THIS is where the eq2.ini should be for the Testserver) ---------UI ------------Mods (THIS is where my modded UI files are) hope that helps |
I double checked to make sure the typo was in my post and not in the .ini file, it is subdir as you noted. Does my directory structure look like it should work?
