Error in log
 

Hi am getting this error in my ui log: Couldn't load .xml
been searching cant find anything about it any help would be great

Check your main files (like eq2ui_mainhud.xml) to make sure that you don't have something like this:

<include>.xml</include>

I'm having this same issue with the default UI, which doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me.

It is, however, driving me nuts because I think it's contributing to the fact that the game won't load my custom UI after I log out, it always reverts back to the default.

Are you using /loadui to load your userinterface? That would be the problem. You need to set up an eq2.ini file (make sure its .ini and not .ini.txt! thats a common problem) that looks like this:

cl_ui_skinname Fetish
cl_ui_subdir UI/

Replace "Fetish" with the name of your custom UI's folder

Yeah, I was using /loadui, and I did the eq2.ini trick shortly after I posted. My UI loads now and stays loaded, so that seems to be good.

I haven't checked the UILog yet to see if it's still generating the errors, though.
