some assistence crashing to Char select
hey..so i posted before and i know im making anotherone cause stuff changed. see it seems i did have a firewall up..but that isnt the problem its still doing the same thing. its getting rather agrivating. i was just told to do a full system wipe!? WHY??? is eq2 worth a system wipe heck i didnt even get to try much of the game....
i dont understand...DDO,WoW play fine...?! the first week of EQ2 ran great..then this?! and i've done the un-install re-install..../sigh im so sick of trying its not even funny i think im ganan get a nice notorized letter and send it to SOE asking/demanding some sort of freakin rebate on my 29.99 i spent on this game cause of their false advertisment on the box of the required system specs. my system exceeds them by ALOT and it still wont run properly. if anyone has an idea as crazy as you think it is i will try it-- i just dont want to wipe my system and crap. thanks...hopefuly i can find a fix before aug 14 im ganna give them til then (thats when my 30 days is up ) |
Used to happen to me too, and I heared it's something to do with eax.
I play with eax fine now tho, so not 100% sure. Anyway, other games has bugs as well, especially mmorpgs. don't get freaked out. |

What exactly is EQ2 doing? as i zone into the game. it works fine, then i zone to any other zone it loads fast as normal and then gets stuck on loading UI resources. then when/if it logs me in i either A- have no health/power but im alive nad able to talk to guild,and can still move B- cant talk or do anything but have health/power and can still move---either once i move, use any ability or talk to any NPC it does nothign then 3-5 mins after i get booted to char select screen.
What are you doing when it does it? this only happens when i zone Is there a common event happening when it does it? (You chatting, clicking on a window, ect) What type of connection are you one (dial-up, ISDN, DSL, Cable, Sat) Cable 3m connection threw a netgear router/modem combo thing the cable company gave us What firewalls, anti-virus, spy-ware software are you using and is EQ2 on their exclude list? anti virus is disabled, NAM is un-installed, modems firewall is disabled/off no spy-ware (as its built into my nortans internet) things i have done is, i have done 4 Full re-installs, deleted the UI folder, ALL ini files, any file with my char name/server name in them, Cache folder,logincache folder, Origonal UI folder, done full file scans after all this, scanned harddrive for any issue's dont a full defrag (3 times) on my system full virus scan (twice) im using the default eq2 UI , oddly enough it isnt my discs my g/fs computer at her house works it great (and my comp is soo much better then hers...which is where we get more confused) --this link has my comp settings altho it states in the diag my NAM is on i have un-installed it sence that last msinfo32 ran. --http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=tech_support&message.id=172473 im accualy bringing my computer to her house to see if it has anything to do with a faulty router/modem as her eq2 runs fine there if mine does to then i need to work with the connection. if it still doesnt work im thinking i might do a full system wipe and re-install of windows... if i do should i bring my motherboards CD's ect??? any other suggestions helpful as i have 8-9 hours before i get to her house (at work) and i would love to do something other than a system wipe. the game DID work great from friday july 14th til wed july 19th(this is the day it started after they did a LU) thank you for any help anyone can offer [/list] |
Are you using a custom UI? If so which one? Sorry if this has already been answered.
When I mess with custom UI files, if I mess one up it will cause the game to crash at various times, depending on what file it is. |
