Former WoW Players?

Been looking relentlessly for some WoW addon goodies that'd make my life easier here. So if any WoW'ers know of some, let me know. For non-wow'ers i'll explain what i'm shootin for.

Perl unit frames (you'd have to see them, they're group frames)
http://www.curse-gaming.com/mod_screens/2889.jpg

CoolCountDown - Basically it puts a number over your hotbar button, showing how long before it can be recast. When there's 3 seconds left the # starts blinking so you know what spell/special is about ready to be used again.

ScrollingCombatText - We kinda have it now, (sometimes i wish i could turn it off) but basically like, know when you're hittin someone. The little -27 -1 -38 random numbers that scroll around the mob showing damage. Looking for the equiv but only on me really.

DPS Meters - Shows who's doing what damage over a fight, who did the most, who did the most healing.. combat stat stuff like that.

CTRA's Healing Interrupts. Lets you set an interrupt. IE, i'm healing the MT. I start casting and he's at 50%. Well my interrupt is at 80%, and before the cast is set to finish he's back at 80%, the addon would stop my spell casting for me as not to waste mana/power.

some Allin1inventory, where instead of opening bag by bag, i have 1 big back with all my crap in it. Helps to sort stuff and when looking for an item.

aaaand while i'm putting out my wish list

Something that shows what items sell to vendors for. Ie, i sell a bunch of crap. Later i'm out grinding and my bags are full. When i hover over an item it shows me what the vendor would by that stack of items for. Then i can figure out which items i should destroy for the new item. Doesnt pull info from the server, caches the sell prices as you sell stuff.

I'm sure i'll think of more wants/wishes/etc.. that will probably never happen. But i had to at least post and see if any of this stuff actually exists.

I nkow it's an EQ2 site, and I clearly quit WoW for eq2, but WoW definately had (maybe by desgin) better addons for it. I'm sure the addons are able to do a lot more in wow and that's the reasoning, but still if I could find the equivs to some of those in EQ2 i'd be one happy druid.

CoolCountDown - Can't be done in EQ2's system

ScrollingCombatText - You can't mix/match the overhead feedback - its either all on, or all off :)

DPS Meters - Can't be done in EQ2's system - only log parsers can be used, but nothing can be shown in game

CTRA's Healing Interrupts. - Can't be done in EQ2's system

Allin1inventory - Can't be done in EQ2's system

Something that shows what items sell to vendors for. - Can't be done in EQ2's system

well that sucks.

What about a way to hide unused hotbar buttons?

Irritates me when I have a bar with only 3 buttons. But i have to have all 12 empty boxes shown regardless of how i try resizing it.

One could possibly do the hotbar thing you speak of, but it would have to be a click type thing to take away each holder. Then I doubt it would save it from zone to zone or after logging.

Put background/frame opacity to zero for normal opacity, and can turn it up for mouseover opacity if wanted...

Can't you resize a hotbar down to just one row of 3 or 4 buttons with the default UI? It'd have to be the first 3 or 4 buttons, but I thought you could shrink the window so less than all 12 showed.

Magus 03-08-2006 11:44 PM

No. The only way to sorta do it is to push the other buttons off the screen edge.

mother9987 03-09-2006 10:51 AM

Yeah, I saw that after posting, i tried to resize a window to show less than 12 buttons... It'll let you, but then it auto-sizes vertically to show all the buttons again. I can see how that could be annoying, but no easy way around it...

For a DPS meter I suggest Advanced Combat Tracker now that CombatStats isn't around anymore - there are a couple options for displaying in-game. It pastes info to your clipboard so you can list it in-group, it can open a mini-window which auto-updates, and it can display stuff in the in-game web browser (including graphs), but that can be pretty CPU intensive.

All in one backpack? Why not just use the *open all bags/boxes* command? I think the default toggle is , - anyway check the Interface options its in there somewhere =)

If its for the bank - your best bet is to find a bank mod that has an open all toggle. I use DeaconBank - it is very compact and has toggles to open all vault storage and all backpacks. Very sexy mod.

Hmmm as to pricing items on the run (btw sell in town rather than to outland merchants for better prices). Thats just a knowledge that will come with time. You get the best money for: Fabled body drops (like a wasp sting), looted curiosity treasures are special and pay well. Collection items and study items for a race (like gnoll, orc etc) only pay 7-8 copper at the merchant BUT some of these can be quite rare and you can get good money selling through your vault. To quickly find current market prices for items I suggest you try FetishMarket with its fantastic Find It feature which saves you having to manually type in every little thing you want to price check on.

Body drop junk loot and dropped normal items like armour etc will all be very similar in price within a zone but you will quickly learn what pays best. Of course the dropped armour/weapons pay well but they don't stack. If you are a high strength character who can carry a lot of weight you may not even know you can actually carry boxes instead of bags in your inven slots (now I will have tailors sending me death threats!) Boxes are often cheaper and of course bigger than bags ;) Upgrade to as many slots as you can asap!

You can hotkey opening all bank bags as well, you know :P

Lovebrat 03-25-2006 01:19 AM

Kewl didn't even know that - probably because one of the first things I did when I installed EQ2 a year ago was Google "EQ2 User Interface" in the hope I could find replacements for the default huge and fugly windows - luckily I found this place thereby negating my need to use aforementioned shortcut :p

Drumstix42 03-26-2006 09:06 AM

Yeah, opening all bags at once is nice, but when you would like to move them around, it's annoying. Especially if you like to lock your bags in place so as to not accidenlty drag them. Cause in this game, they don't give you an option of just click to select. Gotta drag everything

"CoolCountDown - Can't be done in EQ2's system" ti display spell cooldown timers!

I have been looking relentlessly for a hot-bar mod similar to this, has anything changed do any mod now offer this feature?

Magus 03-31-2006 10:01 PM

No, nothing has changed. It cannot be done.
