Charater select Zoom Animation
 

Is there a way of disabling the animation zoom-in when you select characters at the character selection screen ?
On machines with no ultra high equipment this zoom takes forever and is quite choppy to look at

I, perhaps like you, run EQ2 on a low end P 1.7 with not a very modern graphic card. Switching chars is a PAIN, not to mention I'm running on ultra high performance :D . Would be nice to disable this!

I recently upgraded my graphics card, which made all the difference in the world.

But before that I hade the exact same problem. I found it faster (and less frustrating) to /exit while in the game and then re-log back in and choose your character from the log-in screen (at the top). That way you bypass the zoom while selecting!

Not though anything having to do with this site's focus, no.
