Pet Window including Running Effects Icons

Hey there,

My optimum pet window would be one which showed the running effects as icons (like targeting windows do) and command buttons that I can hide. It can be very useful for me to know what is being run on my pet beyond my own buffs.

I like to see what other buffs people are running from my group - in particular when tanking for a small group with my Conj Earth pet, I like to be able to see whether they've cast their short buffs on it before I send it in to a new mob.

I also like to see clearly whether a mob has cast something I can cure from my pet. I can do this to an extent in implied target window when the pet has aggro of the mob I'm targeting, but this isn't always optimal.

Finally, now that pets have some more abilities when upgraded it would be good to see when they're casting them at times... which might be possible for some of the abilities in a window showing effects on the pet.

If somebody has already made such a thing, let me know... I'd grab it instantly. I usually run fetish nightfall - but would honesly change UIs for this feature alone if necessary (no offense zonx... Fetish has served me very well).

Pets dont buff themselves, so their attacks wouldn't be visible anywhere in that.

The icons for pet attacks would show up on the mob's effect list.

Yeah I guess you'd need maintained effects for them. Trying to pin down your pet's stuff on the mob when you're in a group can be an absolute nightmare though....

It would have been particularly handy to see when the earth pet is actually taunting. That'd help with timing stuff at times... and for those of us with crap graphics systems it can be very tough to see visually from the battle.

Not such a big deal really. The other stuff is more important.

The effects on the pet show up in your target/implied target windows like they do on mobs or other players.

As far as seeing what stuff the mob may be casting on your pet, use your chat options and maybe make a new window that just shows mobs spells, pets spells etc.

You need to see it interactively rather than scanning chat flying by at a rate of knots during battle. A seperate chat tab for it takes up too much space on the screen and unless you make it very large, you won't see things happening unless you're watching it all the time - which is impractical when your main attention needs to be on the battle.

Changing target to the pet to see what's on it doesn't work effectively because your target needs to be the mob you or your group is fighting. You only want to change if you need to do something about it - such as cure it.

Implied target works only as long as the pet is the target of the mob you're fighting. Soloing this is mostly OK - although not always. While grouping this is hardly ever the case.

Adding the icons to the pet window under its health bars would allow the pet user to see at a glance what's going on with his pet, which would be the optimum solution.

We just can't do it though, that's the problem.

And targetting your pet would work great as long as you attack the same mob your group is on.
