Fustration....
Hey guys...had to do a fresh install of EQ2 last night, today tried to load up my UI's, but they wont work. Here's exactly what I did..
Created Custom folder inside UI folder \Program Files\Sony\EQ2\UI\Custom Created Images folder *\UI\Custom\Images Created the eq2.ini file (correctly saved as *.ini) in my Custom folder and added cl_ui_subdir UI/ cl_ui_skinname Custom Downloaded all *.xml files to my UI\Custom folder All *.dds and *.tga files to Images Loaded up EQ2 and nothing. Changed eq2.ini to: cl_ui_skinname Custom cl_ui_subdir UI/ Loaded EQ2 and nothing. Deleted Customs folder and recreated eq2.ini file. Loaded just 1 mod eq2ui_mainhud_expierence.xml (taco-man's adventure xp and guild xp which I used to have before new install) Loaded EQ2 and still nothing. I'm at my wits end on what to do, those were the exact steps I took. I even tried changing the / on my eq2.ini file because in my folder the path goes with a \ but still nothing. After 5 years of EQ1 custom UI's and 1 year of EQ2 custom ui's, I cannot play EQ2 with the default UI :D Thanks guys, Soes |
Wierd. Are both the directory name and the name in the INI file uppercase?
Try downloading something like the EQ2Map auto-updater, and let it install itself, and try seeing if you can get that to work. *edit* spelling |
I am not an expert, but I think you need to put the eq2.ini in the everquest2 directory and not in your UI folder. Goes up 2 levels.
Hope you get it working! :) |

Lol I guess its been so long since I've had to do a new custom UI folder that I had forgotten, the eq2.ini file goes in my main EQ2 folder, not the sub directory. My thanks to Hiastia and Drumstix42 for your help guys, I cant believe how stupid I was being. Now to go and reinstall every mod again lol. If something goes wrong, I'll be back ;-)
