Low system specs

My computer is a 2gig p4, 512 ram, with a radeon 9600. I get extreme video lag because of my low ram, slow zone and load times, temporary freeze ups when doing things like draging or rightclicking that can boot me to login, and random dumps to login that has caused me trouble in the DoF instances that boot you if you ld while zoning in.

My question is, does the UI I use matter much? I use fetish nightfall, it is by far my favorite but if there is another ui that will cause less of a strain on my system I have no choice but to abandon it.

Edit: I should mention that I play with *every* setting on as low as possable and I still have these problems. F U SoE for leading me to beleive that my computer was within the minimum specs.

No, the UI has zero effect on such issues.

On the bright side, you can probably add another 512 stick of RAM for fairly cheap, about what you paid for EQ2 +1 or 2 of the adventure packs. :)

That is so wrong.

Take eXtreme for example, I wouldn't recomend it to any one running eq on a low end comp because it uses a lot of displayed graphics. If your comp is already strained and you run eXtreme it will crash your game.

Look through the pic of the complete sets are the peices. If you want to move away from default look for the ones that doesn't have all the fancy guages and a lot of stuff being rendered on the screen while playing.

If you can afford or have room for just 1 stick of 512 RAM do it. Like Wulfgyr said it will improve your game play by so much.

I should have added that I can't upgrade my ram because my motherboard doesn't allow it. I'm not looking for suggestions as how to improve my performance any other way. I simply want to know if the UI I use will hurt me, and if another one will be less of a strain.

But if you insist, I don't want to say that I've asked questions and received the obvious answers in return, because what is obvious to someone may be wtf to me.
