Mahonri's Timer Window

This thread is for discussing Mahonri's Timer Window.

First off, in way of a disclaimer, I do not claim to be anything close a programmer. I am an art and design guy myself, so this particular mod was a chore. That's likely because I probably did it all the hard way.

If anyone finds any problems with my timer window, please let me know. I am also extremely intereseted in knowing if there was an easier way of setting up the mess known as my Timer Settings window. My limited knowledge and understanding of programming facilitaded a messy and lengthy set of commands. So, if anyone feels inclined to delve into the depths of this mod please do, and let me know if you see stuff that can be done better.

Also, I'm not huge into timing stuff myself (just wanted to tackle the challenge) so if the durations that I included need adjusting such as replacing a useless duration for a more common time, please let me know that as well.

Thanks and enjoy!

Thanks for making something more useful out of it. :)

Love the mod...

Possible to put a "close window" icon on the timer window itself?

Val

It is entirely possible, but to gain access to it again would require typing show_window mainhud.timer into the chat window (or making a macro of that). I have been toying with the idea of making a Mahonri's Start Button that would give the option to open any of my custom windows with a click, so look for that sometime in the future too. :D

Here ya go, valesai. You should be able to hide the close button by selecting a window setting that does not include the titlebar. I haven't tested it in-game myself though. Let me know if you have any problems.

by any chance, would it be possible to add the following:

1) timer to count in seconds
2) a count-down feature
3) a count-up feature?
4) support to play a .wav or .mp3 file when time finished?

if you could get any of those things included i would use this ALOT!

Unfortunately, this is pretty limited. The only item on your list that I'd be able to do would be to give an option for smaller durations (seconds). I'd just need a couple of desired times. 30 seconds and 10 seconds maybe?...

Any way to trigger /playsound inventory_attune (or whatever sound you like) at the end of the duration? I haven't looked at it, but if you've a way to trigger something at the end, this shouldn't be too tough.

The problem is I don't know that there is a way to start the timer animation on demand (it's a constant loop) so there is actually no real end to the animation either. This makes it tough to place a trigger on it. I did just think of a possibility though. I'll have to try it out sometime...

hi mahonri :)

back again to see if any update has happened yet...

i'm very very VERY excited that you said you could put the timer in seconds!!! but it has to be a pre-determined thing? we wouldn't be able to set our own duration?

at any rate please keep this project alive! lancing mobs and timing multiple events at raids make the future of this tool VERY important to me!

great work so far :D

I've modified the times for my personal use. You can test my version at www.hachima.com/eq2/timer.rar

My times are 20,25,30,40,45,60,72 second timers.

Close Button Problems

Cannot see close button and only option under window settings is frame only. No titlebar setting. The command hide_window mainhud.timer does not close the window either. Like the timer but do not like it up all the time. What do I need to modify to make it hide?

Nevermind

Okay, I'm a bunglebrain. Mod works great. Close window appears just fine. Awesome job Mahonri. Copied wrong darn file. Oh well. I've done worse, trust me. Thanks for the great mod. It comes in handy.
