eq2map not working any longer after installing DoF
Hey there,
Sorry if this has been already answered or posted on the forum but can't find a similar post. So here's the problem: eq2map interface was working perfectly before. Since I installed DoF I only get the original eq2 maps. I already tried to uninstall and reinstall eq2mapinterface once with no success :( can you help me? I am pretty sure I only need to move eq2map folder to another location but i would you to guide me through before I touch some eq2 vital file and cause more troubles. how can i attach a screenshot of my eq2mapinterface window option? thanks, emiano |
Just another thing, reading the other posts i noticed that many people included the eq2.ini file details.
That's what i found inside: cl_ui_skinname EQ2MAP cl_ui_subdir UI/ only those 2 lines...any clues? thanks again, emiano |
adding extra info, sorry if i didn't put everything at once.
i also deleted eq2.ini and re-run eq2mao updater that reinstalled it with exactly the same lines: cl_ui_skinname EQ2MAP cl_ui_subdir UI/ no success i am afraid :( |
The skinname is where your custom UI files are located. Install EQ2Map and make sure in the OPTIONS that you point the UI Directory to YOUR custom UI file folder. In MY options for EQ2Map, the UI DIrectory has ModsADV in it as per my setup on my machine.
My EQ2.ini looks like this: cl_ui_skinname ModsADV cl_ui_subdir UI/ My EQ2map is installed in MY CUSTOM UI folder: drive:\eq2\UI\ModsADV\eq2map If you can follow the pathing here, you should be able to change it to your settings. If you DO NOT have any custom files and are ONLY USING Eq2Map, then the the EQ2Map MUST be installed inside the \UI folder as per the lines in your post: cl_ui_skinname EQ2MAP cl_ui_subdir UI/ Therefore YOUR setup on the drive would be like this: drive:\whatevernameyoucallEQ2\UI\EQ2MAP Good Luck!! -dn |
I have the same problem as emiano, and I still couldn't fix this issue. My paths are presumably all correct, although I do have a question regarding localized versions: I use the LP_REGION_EN_GB (engish european) folder for executing EQ2. Now I first tried to set the eq2map options to this directory while selecting the language "default". This didn't work. So I changed to my original eq2 folder for the eq2 directory, selcted to launch eq2.exe from the LP_REGION_EN_GB directory, and selected LP_REGION_EN_GB as language. Still doesn't work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
same problem ...
EDIT : FOUND IT !!! had to copy/paste EQ2MAP folder into LP_REGION_EN_US folder, now that runs smooth cause i get european version of eq2. |
i tried everything i could and suggested by depechenode (btw i am a fan of DM since i was 10!!) but no success.
I have the eq2map folder within the UI subfolder but inside it i found also another eq2map folder with small characters while the custom folder is EQ2MAP... Is it possible that the eq2map updater doesnt see the files cause all the maps are inside this eq2map folder (small characters)? together with this folder i have images (another folder) and an xml file called mainHUD.map any further help? otherwise i think i am gonna give up using eq2map interface after it worked for so many months :( thanks in advance |
Have you tried to delete the EQ2MAP UI folder? I would un-install the program and delete the folder, then re-install the updater. Also, last time I had that issue, I changed my EQ2.ini file to point to the default UI folder and then ran the updater and it worked fine.
