Hi Tinsie. Well I went and downloaded this compilation just to see if I could identify the problem you were having. It seemed to work fine for me, however, so let me run through the series of steps I did to install it just so you can verify them. May even want to delete your current instalaltion and try redownloading following these steps:
1) In your Everquest2\UI folder create a new folder ("Fantasy" for example). 2) Click download on the UI and select open. 3) If using WinZip, when it's ready select Extract and browse to the 'Fantasy' folder you just created and OK to Extract to that location. 4) In your main Everquest2 folder create (or edit if already there) your EQ2.ini file. When you open it it should read as follows: cl_ui_skinname Fantasy (or whatever you named the folder) cl_ui_subdir UI/ That should be all you need to do. If your still having problems I would suggest when you extract you try selecting only the UI files and skip the EQ2 Map installation files. If the UI then works, download and install EQ2Map seperately. Finally, if all else fails, your welcome to try my Compilation here: http://www.eq2interface.com/download...php?s=&id=3949 - while not exactly the same I noticed I did use several of the same elements included in the Fantasy UI when compiling mine. Good luck to you! |
I just did all the same things you told me to do and it still sends error,,,,I dont' know what i'm doing to make it send me that....problem is I really don't like any other UI's hehe. I really want this one,.....any help please....

Ok... well a little time consuming maybe but one thing you could try if you really, really want it would be to do the following:
1) Download the file and place it's contents in a seperate folder on your desktop 2) Clear out your current Fantasy folder. (leave folder just empty contents) 3) try copying over each UI component 1 at a time (or 3 or 4 at a time), logging into EQ2 again after each copy to see if it works. Be sure to log out completely between each time you copy files over. When it finally fails, make a note of the last file you copied over and post it here so some of the mod experts can take a look at it. With luck you'll have the whole UI save one particular mod that may need to be updated. I'm guessing that since this is an older compilation one of the peices doesn't jive with some update SOE put in since it was created... though why it works for me but not you I dunno. heh Again, good luck! Edit: Oh, btw, I'd leave the whole EQ2Maps installation out of this process and just install it seperately after you have the basic UI working. |
I have Yahoo instant messenger...Tigermandi2...if anyone can get on there and maybe talk me through it...thanks

No Yahoo, but sent you a private message here detailing it. Let me know if you didn't get it as I almost never send them and want to make sure I did it right. heh
