Mapping the ` key
In EQ1 I mapped my ` key (the one under Escape on a UK keyboard) for autoattack.
When I try in EQ2, it just doesn't get detected by the Options menu. Most annoying! Any clues? |
the ` key the one with the ~ on it is already mapped in game to auto attack.... read the manual it will tell you all that you need to know.

Are you referring to a US keyboard?
My UK keyboard has 3 different chars on that key: ` ¬ and ¦ The ~ key has # on it. Actually, the key itself doesn't seem to be recognised inside the game at all. Point is, I don't want to use the default ~ key. I currently have it mapped to \ but that's not as intuitive to me from my old EQ1 days where it was mapped to ` !!! |
For any one that would like to do this, I found a work around. There may be a more elegant solution, but this works great.
It's a registry setting, so if you're uncomfortable with that then move along! Create a text file with a .reg extension and cut and paste the following into it: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00Save it, then double click on the file and it will make the reg entry for you. You Need to Reboot for this to take effect. It's basically mapping the # char onto the key so it's actually recognised by EQ2. Works great for me!! |
