moving the letterbox up/down?
 

I like the wide-screen letterbox viewing, but is there anyway to move it so that more "black" is on the bottom and less is on top or vis versa? I'd really like to have enough room on the bottom of the screen to put my chat boxes and hotbuttons without obstructing the view, but i don't want that same amount of "black" space on top of hte screen. It would be great if there is a way to accomplish this... something like the viewport command from eq1 perhaps?

In the options there is a way to change the size of the letterbox, don't remember what it is offhand. From what I saw the change in size is proportionate. I don't think you can make the top or bottom bigger than the other one, but you can change the size. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

You're not wrong , that is exactly right. The problem with that is that I want to put my chat box and hotkeys on the bottom of the screen beneath the view where they don't obstruct the view. But changing the size of the letterbox to accomodate that leaves me with a HUGE black space on top of the screen, and leaves me with a very small viewing area. If I could move the letterbox up so that I had less black on top, and more on the bottom I would have a very nice setup IMHO as I could put my chat and stuff in a location where it wouldn't be in my view and still have a very nice large viewing area.

I DID IT!!!!! :)
you need to add the following line to your eq2.ini file
cl_letter_box_position 0.001
(puts it all the way to the top)
I didnt check the bottom, but the range is from 0 to 1 on the number, so logically .99 or 1.0 should put it at the bottom
