Blurry Maintained and Effects icons
1 Attachment(s)
I'm not sure why... I can't remember doing anything different on this computer than I did on the other one I played on, but I just realized how clear the icons were on the other computer, and how horrifying they look on this one. I have posted an attachment to show you what I mean. It's not a bad picture quality or anything, that's really what they look like for me...
I was hoping that somebody out there might know why this is, and have some means of fixing it :-/ Thanks in advance! Edit: the 5th one down is Jboots, and 3rd one up is Pathfinding... it may be hard for some of you to figure out what they even are (and thus, what they should look like), so I figured I'd post that also. |
Hmm... Might be mipmap quality. I had some similar issues with lines on my UI.
How to adjust: ATI cards: Control Panel > Display > Settings tab > Advanced > 3D tab > Direct3D > Custom. Set Mipmap Detail Level and Texture Preference to High Quality. nVidia: Control Panel > Display > Settings tab > Advanced > ... don't know from here, don't have an nVidia card at the moment. :p But it'll be in there somewhere. That's all I can think of to try. If it fixes the issue but kills your framerate, play around with settings both in and out of game a bit until you find a good middle ground. |
I tried every combination of MipMap quality and filtering I could come up with... didn't fix it. Would I have to reboot each time for the change to take full effect? Or just restart EQ? Or should it take effect immediatly (as I assumed)?
|
You will definately need to restart EQ2 for the changes to take effect. Unsure about re-boot. If it didn't work after setting everything to max quality and rebooting, further adjusting won't help it.
Sorry it didn't work. Can't think of anything else. Update your drivers, maybe. |
Well I fixed it by updating my drivers... then uninstalling them... then installing them again, heh. I can't believe how clear the game looks now, it's ridiculous... I didn't realize that literally EVERYTHING was blurry... thanks for that tip on the drivers, and your other ideas in general. It's greatly appreciated! :) :nana:
