How do you use EQ2Maps with Custom UI?
I have just gotten into the UI's for EQ2, although they were a staple for me in the old EQ. I have been using the EQ2Maps for the last month or so and they are wonderful, thanks to everyone's hard work on that.
Which leads me to my question. How do you use the new EQ2Maps with a Custom interface? When I installed EQ2Maps I noticed that the eq2ui file read that the EQ2Maps folder was the default, but i have to modify that file with a custom interface, so i lose the maps. How to I use both? It may be an ignorant question, and I have looked through here for answers but I may be overlooking them or they are not present. Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. |
use the C:\Program Files\Everquest II\ui\eq2maps\ directory as your customui directory.
if you have a mod relating to hotbars, you drag the xml file into C:\Program Files\Everquest II\ui\eq2maps\ then it works! |
Some of us would even go so far as to say that standard installation procedure for *any* mod should be....
(1) Install EQ2Map. (2) Put the mod files into the EQ2Map directory. ;) -- Darryl |
Thanks for the help people. That was gonna be my next attempt. It just seemed to easy to be right at first

Ok, I tried what was mentioned above, and it did work. However, the EQ2Map Updater no longer updates. The maps work in game, but I get many many error dialog popups when running the updater. I eventually have to shoot it in the head. Any ideas? I do not have any screen prints or info on what text the error messages contained, for they were popping up too fast, one right on top of the other, so i had to shoot it with Task Manager before it crashed.

I haven't had any such problems myself, and so haven't really been paying close attention, but I know others have reported problems along the same lines as what you're seeing. If you check the EQ2Map Updater discussion threads, you'll probably find some help.
