Fonts really messed up now
 

:mad: It seems with today's patch and the option of smooth vs. original style fonts has really messed up many mods.

Now, with the smooth fonts enables, many custom mods font sizes/positions are not visually pleasing and even somewhat distorted.

When using the original font stlye, non-smooth, I have noticed even WORSE visual clarity of the fonts now.

When using the UIBuilder, I can not recreate the new smooth style to correct my mods. It is using the default style that we have all been using since EQ2 launch.

This issue really needs to be looked at and any help with correcting these problems will be greatly appreciated.

It will be hard to re-do the text positioning/sizes in UIBuilder, if the builder itself is not showing these same visual flaws seen in game as of today.

You guys do great work, but plz hurry. I miss my mod :eek:

yes, the fonts really are screwed up now =( everything looks wrong on my UI, and it's going to be a pain to fix ...

why did they think we needed to change the fonts anyway?

new fonts look better

i'd rather have a crappy font and have all my UI components look nice than have a "nice" font and have everything else look off and displaced

IMHO, the new fonts look like CRAP!

They are blurry to look at and very unpleasing.


PLUS, I can't use the older fonts now as they are "shrunched" together and also visually DISPLEASING.

I am in the process of redoing my mods AND correcting SOE's default text positions as they are messed up too.

I have found that the font causing my headaches is the FontArial14. I am removing that and replacing it with FontZapf15. But again the positions are screwed.

I came to see if mods were being redone but I see now even you guys are aggravated. This is a huge change they should have given us an option for. To download new font system or not. I'll keep checking back here, but thanks for all the hard work, I know this place will figure something out.

mu ui, i tried useing more original fonts, and the setting did not seam to effect the smaller windows,,, so i dont have any complaints, yet

My old font's are fine

Every now and then while logging in or while playing I get a little popup error message in the bottom right corner about an error loading a font . The font name changes each time so far. Then the program closes to desktop
When I rerun patcher everything seems to work normally.

I've been getting this error loading font msg since 6/12 also :(
