off screen item examine window
 

I have a recurring problem with examining items.
When i first examine an item it more often than not doesnt appear.

I believe this is due to it opening invis or more likely off-screen.

If I hit escape (closing the window) and examine another item (the examine box wont appear) then examine the first item again i can then see the window.

This is a especialy an issue when i try to examine chest loot as hitting escape often declines all loot.

I believe that the times I can view an item first time there may already be an offscreen/invis examine window open that i simply havent closed so it may be a default location issue (but i cant verify this).

I have the option checked to not display windows off-screen but it doesnt help. I have also moved all other (i.e chat and quest) windows about so i am sure the item windows are not obscured.

I am probably missing something obvious but any help would be appreciated.

I am using fetish nightfall interface but i dont think that is the issue...

I am having the same problem. I have a few pieces installed but none of the fetish mods.

i am getting desperate... has anyone any ideas at all to sort this out?

Try renaming or deleting your character's uisettings file. Base EQ2 directory, format server_character_uisettings.ini

You'll have to re-arrange all your windows again, but it should resolve this issue.

I believe the option "Don't allow windows offscreen" may also fix this.
It's under the in game options and user interface...
