Window Placement Problem
Hey all :) Thank you for viewing my post.
Ok, Here is my problem. I am working on a setup that I need to place 2 window at the same exact location on all the computers. The window I am working with is inventory_market. Now the problem is, when I edit the XML for the window and set the window's location to 0,0 or any location for that matter, sometimes on my other computer it displays it a few pixels off. Like when I put in 0,0, my one computer puts it smack at 0,0 while the other one represents 0,0 as offset about 10 pixels in both directions. I need this exact on anyone who goes to install this so I have to figure out why certain computers is offsetting this. Has anyone ran into this before or can help me please? Thank you very much :) |
Bump
Bump.. I really need some help, could anyone respond please?

Try setting the pack location for the said window...
There are so many factors... like is the window resizeable.. is it the market page itself that is offset and offset from what? the frame? or the parent page.. |
The thing is, I copied the un changed file from the default folder and the only change I made was I changed the location to a certain spot and locked the window with UserMovable=false
I did this with a few other windows and the market window is the only one where the location is different. Please, has anyone else encountered this? Thanks! PS: When I put the location 55,70 or whatever location for that matter, the Market window appears in a different spot on 2 different computers. For some reason, this is only with the market window |
There are just way way way too many variables to even begin to troubleshoot something as vauge as that.
maybe, if we were right there in front of the two computers we could figure it out, but thats a big maybe. Assuming that the monitors are adjusted exactly the same. and that that is TRULY, the ONLY single window that is doing that. I can see only two possibilites. again.. assuming everything else is EXACTLY the same. Possibility #1: Your character INI file on one computer is slighty different than your character INI file on the other computer. Which has the Market Window saved in a slightly different spot. As laffs said the PackLocation is probably going to be where you find your gremlin. Different windows are packed to different 'anchors' check the UI builder documention for a good example of how that works. Perhaps you have an offset set wrong on the window. BY the way. If this happends ALL the time, then just set a negative value for your window that is having the problems. It's ok to set (-5,-5) : ) |
