Crypt of T'Haen

Hi,

I was trying to make my first map. I ran around and logged the /loc of all the zone edges and

1) here's the file (attached).

2) last modified filename"
mod01_dun_tombs_of_night+mod01_dun_crypt_of_thaen.iop

3) Ground color: looks like sand.... Well here, see for yourself.

----------------------------------

I really wanted to take it to step two myself but Inkscape won't read the .svg file.

I put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into this so far (well, my character's anyway.... ::mutters something about falling off a cliff:: ) and would love to go further myself.... any tips on why Inkscape might not be able to read this? :(

Thanks.....

Well, the log file isn't what you feed into Inkscape. You have to run the perl script on it (mapper.pl or mapper.xml) to generate an SVG file.

However looking at your log file, right off I notice that you don't have any "start new line" entries in it. Which means the map would be one continuous line.

Right. "Inkscape won't read the .svg file." I did that part. ;)

The new line problem is what's wrong I'm sure. I didn't know I had to do those, oops. Thanks for the information - at least now I know where to start correcting myself for next time. :)

Hmmm, this is what it looks like. I have no idea how the upper part looks if you can clean it up a bit I can make it a map.

Looks like you didnt emote start a new line, etc.

Is it possible to get a basic map, so that ppl can add POIs and more details?

Named: V'nya the Unclean / Lvl 38 (Heroic) Necro with pet

POI: QST update (lower falls) at 22.38, -0.38, -3.38

QST: candles on ground at -109.23, 1.24, 12.58
take candles to get QST "Funeral Pyre"

btw, my attachement is log from a foreign (german) client... complicated, isnt it?!

This is a much cleaner map but it is incomplete. This is from the German log file.

Run Inkscape. Click FILE, then OPEN, then select the map.svg you made. It will goto what appears to be a black page. Press 4. This will zoom in on your map.
