Letterbox area: Some names and floating numbers showing

1 Attachment(s)
In LU9 they changed the default letterbox file. Since then I'm seeing NPC names and floating numbers displaying in the letterbox area (both top and bottom). Previously this was not the case. See attached screenshot for example of NPC names showing thru the top letterbox area. This screenshot was taken with the DEFAULT UI. I have this issue with no UI in place and also when I use my personal mix and match UI. I do not have a eq2ui_mainhud_letterboxframe.xml in my custom UI. I also do not have a eq2ui_proxyactor.xml file in my custom UI.

I'd like it back the "old way" where the letterbox is a black area that I can put my gauges in and not see anything else. Personally I've trained myself to watch that area for changes (buff expires, color changes, etc). All the extra activity there is driving me nuts! I can't screen out what's just the mobs name and hit numbers spamming by and what's my maintained reactive heal expiring.

Can anyone tell me what I'd need to change for the letterbox to go back to NOT showing NPC names and floating numbers?

Wow it sounds kool ;)

I been trying for ages to get floaty numbers in the tradeskill window and you got them in the letterbox window by doing nothing, Its just not fair :( Lol

Anyways

Since you using default UI I would say its somthing in you chars settings file that must be causing this find "server_charname_eq2_uisettings.ini" and delete it yes your going to loose all your saved window positions..

Make a backup of it first, just in case that dont work then you can put it back in

Screenshot was taken after renaming my eq2.ini and server_character_eq2_uisettings.xml files. Just to be sure, I went back and renamed the eq2_recent.ini file. Still the same with names showing in the letterbox area. All I really did was move the group window from it's default position so you can see the letterbox area in question. Can someone else maybe try renaming those files and see if they have the same issue? I think this letterbox change is evident in the default UI, with default settings. Can someone confirm?

And if I'm correct, back to the original question...how do I get the letterbox to block these things? I'm guessing it's something about the layering order of the UI, but I'm still learning what does what.

Hmm...

Try adding AlwaysOnBottom="true" to ProxyActor.

Mine has always did that. There is an option that allows it if I recall correctly.
