Having some issues... UI worked once
Okay, I'll try and keep this short, yesterday I downloaded the OCD Complete UI Set from this site. Unzipped the files to "C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II\UI\OCD\"
I created the eq2.ini file, containing the following Code:
cl_ui_skinname OCDLoaded up EQ2 and enjoyed my nice new UI. So where is the problem you ask? Well, today I loaded up EQ2, hopped on my character to find the default UI there again. So I closed EQ2, started it again, same result on all 3 characters. So I thought, well maybe something was updated to break the UI. So, I downloaded another one, Fantasy. Unzipped it to "C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II\UI\Fantasy\" and updated eq2.ini to reflect the new UI, and still no-go. So, I tried a few things, including switching around eq2.ini so that it was subdir first, then skinname... same result. Tried deleting all the charactername_ui files... still default. Tried deleting the eq2_recent.ini to no avail as well. I'm not about to give up, but I've tried installing a different UI, reinstalling the current one and I'm getting very frustrated with the whole thing. If anyone has an idea on a fix, I am all ears. Thanks Marc |
Anybody?
I'm tempted to re-install EQ2, but don't feel like downloading the patches again if not needed. So any help, even a simple suggestion is greatly appreciated. Thanks. |
Have you tried deleting/renaming and then re-making eq2.ini yet? All I can think of is that maybe the drive sector it's on got corrupted or something.

Yes, I have completely gotten rid of eq2.ini and re-created it. I've done the whole install (of the UI) over again, to no avail. The settings I had from before installing the UI were gone too. When I started the game it was like I had just installed it, the extra toolbars etc were all gone, basically all my config files seemed like they were borked. I may try a re-install of everything (windows etc) tonight, since I'm about due for a re-format anyways.
Thanks. |
