DDS Alpha channel... HELP ME

Ok Im attempting to make a fancier version of Insom's exp bar. Im using photoshop elements with the nvidia plug in to edit the pics. Everytime i save them they look right but the preview makes them all distorted and they end up not appering correctly in game. anyone have a clue?

I've heard of some people having problems with the alpha channel using the nvidia plugin. Try the plugin that is attached to the post.

I think the Problem is that i cant save it in the DXT format. It says "dxt is supported by power 2 only". Whatever the heck that means.

When your saving the dds with the nvidia plugin are you chooseing to save the alpha channel as shown in the 1st picture?

Then when you save another window like the one shown in the 2nd picture should show up and I'm not sure which of the ARGB formats should be used but you need to select one that saves the alpha channel becuase as default it wont. So the question is what ARGB format should be used. If you have time test and see what works for you.

I just figured out that photoshop Elements doesnt let you save teh alpha channel. It will let you view the channel if one exists but, wont let you save it. so im downloading the photoshop cs trial now.

DTX5 seems to be a little better just FYI

In english that translates to "make both dimentions of your image a power of 2" ie 256x256
I use DXT 3, i've had problems with 5. (the icons on my map mod didn't like it)
