UI Development Quiz

So what are you doing, listening to, watching or thinking about as you create a mod ( give a example if you can )

mine for example, everytime I've decided to change something in my Persona\Character mod I have been listening to "Radar Love" on LP ( yeah I've no taste ). That song is the only thing going through my head while I work on the mod.

As for the reason of this quiz... I dunno, would be interesting to see what inspires other mods.

I'm not so much of a mod designer but mod some of the great ideas here to reflect personal taste of which I too have none :) but ussally listen to Medieval Babes while working

I'm working on my UI right now, and I'm listening to Meaning of Life by Disturbed :D

Anything with a serious beat. It dont really matter faster the better, I seem to type to the beat so faster makes me type faster :P

Umm.. YAH.. that pretty much sums it up for me also!

I do like to listen to Internet Radio station Tormented Radio http://www.tormentedradio.com/
It makes for good background when layers deep in any sort of complex operation. I have to have quiet, or some sort of just 'noise' in the background, the sort of music that gets in your head, but doesn't really 'engage thought'.

As far as motivation for the EQ2 mods I did...
that's simple.. they all started with an

" I wonder if I can do ... "
At which point I start digging, and typically don't come up for air until it's done.
The Performance Panel mod, for saving custom display settings, was my very First Mod, and I knew NOTHING about eq2 interfaces, UI builder, or XML for that matter.
Hell after that everything else was just play.

Right now I'm trying to teach myself C# and Visual Studio 2003, to hopefully be able to take the MCSD exams, and change job fields sometime in the next few years. Needless to say, I've got my work cut out for me.

C# is hard if you dont already have a good background in OOP, which I didnt :(

Beginning C# Objects From Concepts to Code
by: Jacquie Barker and Grant Palmer

I could not find a single negative review of this book, and after finnishing it, I can see why, it is the best book I have ever ready to explain the OO concepts.

Really, really fantasic.

Laffs 05-30-2005 08:30 PM

Its all a the same sort of concept of the old 'Forth' code that was the start of the OOP idea I thinks..... Correct me if wrong... :)

I may take a look at that book Kosmos
