notes?

Im new to this stuff so please no flaming

Is there anyone that can post a single mod for Notes.. Like a personal journal that you can write in freely?

Is this possible?

Deathbane27 04-24-2005 08:28 PM

No, it is not.

This is impossible? Something like an in-game notepad. i don't know the differences between the ability to tweak WoW's UI and EQ2's UI, but WoW has something called parchment mod. Just a notepad type window that allows you to type into it and retain the data. Impossible in EQ2?

It's not impossible... as long as you never ever log out, change characters, or the servers never crash, or go down for maintenance.

Not impossible just not implemented

They had a very similar feature in EQ1 which I still can not believe wasnt in for EQ2 at release since it was a HUGELY useful command. Im doubly amazed that the game has been out this long (6 months?) and they havent added this feature yet.

Dunno whether this is impossible or not, BUT ....

Just brainstorming here...

I, too, am clueless when it comes to the actual feasibility of this stuff but what about using the in-game HTML window to access a notepad-script function off eq2interface.com?

The end result would be using your in-game HTML window as if it were a notepad but what you'd really be doing is accessing eq2interface.com and loading a script that edits a local text file.

No clue if this is actually a helpful idea or an assinine one.. /shrug

sounds like a workable idea, a website or webbased note program would be ideal with the use of the ingame HTML window, however in my experiance I crash out of the game 20 minutes after loading that window every time :-(

Deathbane27 05-03-2005 05:23 PM

Additionally, the in-game HTML window can't click links or submit forms, so there's no way to save anything you type.

Lange 05-03-2005 05:25 PM

Could you have the script on the webpage autosave the local text file every 15 minutes or wouldn't that work?

EDIT: perhaps the amount could even be user-defined if such a thing is possible?

Well for myself it wouldn't need to retain information after a logout. Personally, i just want to use it because i'm an artisan, and i take many custom orders. i ususally finish with a clean slate, but while i'm in i like to have a list of thing i need to make, rather than trying to remember it all. It's practical for me for quick jot down notes, but i'm not sure if anyone else would be able to make use of it.
