Server names released...
 

First time posting here, but thought i would bring you guys some news:)




Doubt this has been posted yet, but if it has, I apologize.
Before SoE took down their EQ2 Players.com page, I copied and saved the link that said "Servers" During beta all of the servers were listed but only as numbers. As of 10min ago when I checked, the servers now show up as having names.

Now you should have an easier time coordinating with friends as to which server you'll be joining. Enjoy!
Edit: If you click and it says forbidden, just refresh a few times and it'll come up.

besides that can't be final can it? they name one after the princess in disneyland but not one for the overlord? that can't be right ...

Well I couldnt get through the link, I know Forums are down on EQ2 site, but did anyone happen to write them down??? I would like to know what they are? if all possible?

I would bet that these are not all the servers, I believe that these are the ones that they have put up so far, and are probably working on the rest, or these might be the ones available for release, and they will add others when needed.

Oh, and the fact that there isn't one for Lucan, SOE had a contest on the beta boards for people to vote who they want for leader of Norrath and Antonia won, so she got a server named after her...which i think is the RP sever.

Hmmm. so where is the one that is designated RP prefered or the UK prefered one?

hmm, a couple of those server names will make the qeynos/freeport population be extremely unbalanced. how many freeport peoples will join Antonia Bayle or blackburrow?

Last I saw before, about 2 or 3 hours before the beta boards were taken down, there will be no UK or RP prefered servers. Unless they changed thier mind in the last few hours berfore takeing them down.

Moorgard made a statement saturday saying there would be a RP Perfered designated server at launch :)

Cool. I guess SOE isn't unbendable.

You can get through to the link listed in this thread if you spam your Refresh button. I have it up right now through persistence.

The servers currently listed are numbered 101-105, 201-205, 301-302 .. presumably they have the 10 US servers split along two backbones the way the EQ1 servers are done. None of the servers are marked on the page as RP-preferred, though.

If you can get through to the page, choose Open in New Window and spam refresh again to see what the individual server pages look like. This is a Copy-Paste of the Guk page, obviously inaccurate data since its just a couple testers on it:

I spam the refresh button keepts giving me 403 Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /en/servers_index.vm on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request

Probably saving the "Lucan" server for when they decide to do PVP. Would be fitting.

So, it looks like there is going to be a UK perferred server, just don't know which ones its going to be, and for any that plan on going to Mistmoore just a heads up, its seems that the French players plan on making that an unofficial french server on top of the official one they have.

so uhh . . are servers coming up today or tomorrow? >< soe got me confused with dates now hehe, one spot say Nov 8th another 9th . . . gamespot say anywhere between 8th and 10th for start of shipping . . guess i wont see my dvds till wednesday if i'm lucky =\

Someone should start a thread of "What server I'm playing on". I would, but I'm not sure when I'll be able to start playing. When I start, I don't want to be the only one on my server. :)

Does anyone know if the UK preferred server is in the US or UK/Netherlands based?
