Ability to add screenshots to POI's?
 

What does everyone think of the idea? Should we make it so that you can submit a screenshot of MOBs and such when you put in a new POI. This would come along with being able to add them to existing POIs as well.

no, i think that's going a bit too far. storage and transfer and lil popup windows of pics of mobs ..

I'm pretty sure that Eloa is referring to the website and not the in-game map.

I agree, I think it'd be a fantastic idea! Of course you'd need to have filesize and image dimension restrictions, which may make it more complicated.

there are about 300 things in game using the orc pick
2000 using skeleton.
i know what those look like.

criteria would have to be designed and enforced about..
mug shots,
mooning the camera,
waving,
picks of things w/ your guildmates and name up for advertising
graphics lvls maybe

perhaps Eloa just means say, pics for POI's associated w/ inanimate objects. like someone follows a waypoint a mile or two to get a quest, gets there and cannot posibly figure out what the object is. well here is the only point id almost sorta possibly give a solid, maybe, to.

Good point. The size would have to be relatively small first off.
Since so many things use the same images, we could make it not automatically reference the picture, but instead go into a queue for us to approve first. If the pic is the same as something else, just reference the other picture file...I think if we have admin approval system for pictures, it could be nice. I'll think about it some more, it may die here or go on to become reality...Anyone else?

My biggest concern is file space; I don't want to burden eq2interface.com and Dolby.

We'd have to have an approval process for these, but I know I wouldn't mind going through every now and then. I think I'd enjoy rejecting any images with guild advertisements in them. I don't really want to think about some of the images we might have to sort through though.
