scrying spot aka rainbow spots.

just an idea i had, but anyone that goes scrying often knows thew spawn in certain areas and it would be cool if on the submit poi forum there was a scrying spot option and they had there own icon ect. i know of some i would submit if there was such options :) :)

Could you explain scrying to me? I myself am only lvl 18 and have never heard of it, let alone know if its worth of its own icon...

You buy these scrying stones from the rat on TS docks. I hear there are some available at Nek too. When you see a rainbow, examine a stone. Then you might get something. About as useful as the lottery though rumor has it that some rainbows are giving out status.

explaining

ok sure ^_^ you buy scrying stones from merchants on TS docks and nek docks at 10s each, and around many zones like TS EL nek Zek freeott ect there are spots which ppl call "rainbow spots" they look like rays of rainbow light comeing out of the ground (hentch rainbow spots" go to one of those and use a scying stone and it acts kinda like a slot machine. you get messages that this and that stone glow such and such color and depending on that you can get items. monster can spawn or get nothing. and you can get some nice items or even more scying stones. some things off that can be sold for 5g+ and just recently they can also give status point for all us patrons ^_^.

each spot can be used between 2-20 times from what i ahve seen and they always spawn in certain general areas. like around citidel in nek or granery in EL.

so haveing pois for them with there own ez to tell icons would be realy nice (maybe a small crystal looking icon?) i know i would submit all the places i know off to help others and there is many i dont know of i am sure.

hope that helps ty ^_^

you're very welcome. I guess you're just lucky that I wake up at 5 am and get on the computer immediately, and saw your question right away :)

The thing about the scrying spots is that they are random. Much in the same way as harvesting nodes and the little glowing question marks that we all love to find.

In my opinion, putting them on a map would be completely useless and a waste of time, since the location is never going to be correct. True, you could label a 'general' spot where the spawn around, but that's still just asking to clutter up the map.

Then again, maybe if the interface included some sort of option that let us toggle what POIs were shown on the map......hmmmmm :o

sorian 03-24-2005 05:26 PM

hmmm

when i said genereral spot its not that general. like ringt around such and such little hill ect. they are not very random they always spawn in the same little areas as every serious scryer knows.

as for unneed clutter? they are are needed much more then alot of the pois already on the maps and apeal to a very large grp of hardcore scyers.

a poi filter is being implimented...:)
