Can't Check mail or broker after 3/21/05 patch =(
 

I have no broker mods installed. I can't type the name of the item I want to search for. It wont let me.

I can't check mail , when I do a big black box appears. No mail mods.

When I use the default ui from Sony, I can do both fine. Currently im using Tyejae Steel bottom by Perdition - V7A (1280*1024) and (1600*1200) now with user customization.

The update notes from Sony said they added mail.xml things. I even added them to my custom directory and no dice. Anyone have any ideas ?

Copy the mainhud_mail.xml and mainhud_openedmail.xml into your UI directory and add them to the mainhud.xml file.

This should fix it.

Copy the eq2ui_mainhud_mail.xml and eq2ui_mainhud_openedmail.xml from \UI\Default into your custom UI folder. Afterwards open the eq2ui_mainhud.xml in your custom UI folder. Open it with wordpad or whatever and add following lines:
<include>eq2ui_mainhud_mail.xml</include>
<include>eq2ui_mainhud_openedmail.xml</include>

Of course, you need to add em above this line: </Page>

That's it for the mail window prob. No solution on the broker thing yet.

Isnt this just a result of them having a custom eq2ui_mainhud.xml . They should just need to add the code you posted to their custom eq2ui_mainhud.xml and thats it. You shouldnt copy the default files over specialy since I bet there are more changes coming soon to the mail xml.

I just disabled my UI till this issue is resolved.

I'll check back periodically.

You need to start your own thread because the solution to the thread starters problem may not be the same as yours even though you may have similar issues.

People that cant type in the market window or other textboxes need to rename or delete their eq2ui_fonts.xml file

SOE has already stated they are working on a hotfix to fix some of these issues, that should be applied tonite. Was on the official forums.

Renamed my eq2ui_fonts.xml file to eq2ui_fonts2.xml and everything is working great again.. and I still have my fonts. :nana:

Quick question. I still get the black box when accessing mail. The custom UI I am using doesn't have a eq2ui_mainhud.xml.

Mods I am using:

Gemstone Series: SS Blue
Euda_3-4th_bags
Humu_bothxpbards_vitality_time

All 3 mods are working correctly. I tried copying the eq2ui_mainhud_openedmail.xml and eq2ui_mainhud_mail.xml to the custom UI folder.

Files currently in the custom UI folder(excluding the images folder)
eq2ui_mainhud_experience.xml
eq2ui_mainhud_openedmail.xml
eq2ui_fonts.xml(I added this hoping it would resolve issue)
eq2ui_mainhud_hotkey.xml
eq2ui_skininfo.xml(I did add the two <include></include> lines to this file)
eq2ui_inventory_bag.xml
eq2ui_mainhud_mail.xml

Any help is greatly apprecaited.

eq2ui_skininfo.xml should NOT have ANY includes. Any files included into skininfo will not appear in your UI.

Not only will they fail to load when included into skininfo, they will prevent the default files from loading. DELETE ANY INCLUDES inside eq2ui_skininfo.xml.

If you're custom UI folder doesn't contain eq2ui_mainhud.xml, open the version inside the default folder and confirm it has the mail includes (should be right up top, 2nd and 3rd lines of code).

If the includes are missing, delete the file and run the patcher.
