GoEq2 Officialy up and running.

GoEq2.com is a site which is dedicated to Quests and Maps. Currently there are several maps with NPC labels showing the locations and names of NPCs. (Invaluable for questing)

Feel free to visit, offer oppinions, advice, etc. If your keeping a quest log and whish to be a part of the team, just email me.

Enjoy,
Sokol

I know, currently I have spoke with every NPC in Qeynos and have all the quests wrote down in a note book. i was only 11 at the time and as more quests becoem available at different levels it'll be a chore. My hope however is that the site will become what alahkazam was for Eqlive and that players will post information aswell that can be compiled into a nice format.

sokol + insom = in game north qeynos map :D
only problem with this is, it would mean having every map in 1 file. sony didn't have a problem doing it that way tho so i guess i don't.

how easy does this make quests? this is almost a form of powerleveling.. lol

thanks sokol.

Wow, good find. All the marks are in the eq2_mainhud_map.xml ?

That gives me a php script idea.

Esperant 10-30-2004 02:14 PM

I will definitly try to add to your site there. Fantastic place.

Pulllllease tell me you can automate this..

i think tossing pathfindlocation="-9.81 -3.33 171.11" at the end of every icon will make the game draw a wisp to it when you click on it.. i just need the first 3 parts of /loc for everything.

the map i posted is bugged, displays the north qey icons on every map, fix inc..

Edit: all better, download northqeynosfixed.zip from the second post

Anything I can do to help with this? I'm all for better maps.

Centhena 11-29-2004 01:50 PM

this rocks but is there any way to get their actual names to show instead of NPC? I know I know... how much more do i want.... geez lady.... hehe But i had to ask.

Quite possible I'm just missing it but I've looked 3 times and can't find the link to the Zip in any of your posts (just the Gif)... Is it there?

the map mod i posted does this. when you mouseover "npc" or any other icon a tooltip comes up with the npcs in that area

noize 11-29-2004 05:17 PM

the idea here is very very nice. maps are definatly part of the interface so. given how npc's and quests given will always be in the same place can we look forward to a thread to help map makers by posting where a given NPC/Quest is located? or even to help map out areas (like the Orc Training grounds in the commonlands).

i could see the thread being some what mess, so maybe a php/sql type thing where we could submit local and then mappers could draw from that?

if i'm way off on a tangent here feel free to smack me with a spoon. but i've seen so many nice maps and drooled over how to somehow get them into the game. (very much so the maps for the areas that don't normally have one)

Once I get to play with the map xml a little more and understand it better and get some time I'll be working on a php/mysql app.
