Okay, so I'm an idiot, but how do you...
 

I run the program, it launches EQ... but How do I "use" it??

I open the map "pressing M"... I see nothing.

There's no apparently instructions on HOW to use the program.. any tips appreciated.

Ok, so I looked at the download section, and I see approximately 6 full screens of instructions, so I dont really understand what you're problem is. but here's some instructions for ya.
Click here.
Read.
Click HUGE DOWNLOAD BUTTON.
Once the download finishes, run the downloaded file. Alternatively, just choose open once you click download.
Click Next, next, next, and probably finish next, just keep progressing until it is installed.
Once installed, go to Start>Program Files>EQ2MAP Updater and run the program. It will download the mod, install the mod, and launch your game. If you still have problems we need alot more details because there's some kind of bug.

Also, Having trouble falls under the Troubleshooting category, for which there is a sticky thread in this very forum.

Don't forget to eat eactly "3" gummie bears.

One red one,
One green one, and
finally one yellow one.


In that order. If you don't the mod won't work.


EDIT:

There appears to be a bug with the green gummie bear!
Please replace Green Gummie bear A with the yellow gummie bear included in this file. The yellow gummie bears must be eaten simultaneously for the mod to work. Note: Don't skip the red one.

Umm.. gee... perhaps you should RE-READ what I wrote.

I'll write it another way for you:

After LAUNCHING the EQ2MAP and pressing the "play/launch eq" button, the EQ2MAP program closes (hides?)... EQ starts... my char is standing there.
I see nothing but the normal map I always get when I press "M".

I don't see ANYTHING from EQ2MAP or anything.

Well..it does "work" in common lands..but I was in feerrott and CT.. and nothing showed..perhaps not mapped yet?

did you download the actual map project as well? if not that could be the problem. I think the updater just updates the said map project and not the sony only one

those are probably high level zones and that is why they have not been mapped yet. everyone who has been working on the map project so much that they haven't really had a chance to actually level (i know for me its been probably 3 months since i even gained a single percent of experience) so that is why we dont have the higher level zones.
