server_name_eq2_uisettings.ini Management Tool

As part of the UI Switcher I'm writing a UISettings management tool. Personally, I don't muck with my UISes much. Just copy the one that has everything set up right over all the others. So I ask you, the people, how do you folks manipulate UISes?

Right now I plan to have the following functionality at very least:
  • Backup: save a UIS file someplace safe
  • Restore: revert to the UIS you saved someplace safe
  • Clone: copy a UIS from one character to one or more other characters
  • UI Default: replace all character UISes automatically with a per-UI defined UIS

Can anyone think of anything else that would be useful/necessary to make this sort of utility complete?

sweet!
That would be very popular with people that are not good with the computers.
I've done all of the things you mentioned.
Not often, but I do them.
I think you pretty much covered all the functionality that would be needed for that.

doh

Hehe.. thought the same thing was needed and have finished a windows script for a similar purpose.

Finds all the .ini files, you choose 1, and it duplicates the settings to all othe other found files.

It also backs them up to a subdirectory first just in case.

Sounds like yours will be a little cooler and such, but this one is working quite well.

Keep up the good work
