Problems with custom UI since mar 3 update
 

well, just tried to log for first time since the patch this am and what do I find? nothing but a black screen.. then a few seconds later I'm looking at my desktop, and an error reporting popup,yay

well I'd added a couple things to my custom ui folder so I tried taking them out and starting again, but same problem. Third time I tried renaming my eq2.ini and starting, got into the game just fine this way.

The black screen is popping up just after I hit the 'play' button, and crashing occurs without any changes on screen.

OK, this is a long shot....

If u have a firewall, like zonealarm, when SoE patches the game, your firewall will ask for permission to allow access to the "new" client.

If you are in full screen mode, you are not able to see the little permission window to allow it, so everything stops.

You can change the screen mode from the patcher screen.

I hope this helps & I don't look like a duffer...again.

ok, solved my own problem.. sorta.. I deleted my custom ui folder, whipped up a new one and installed all of the components back in, now I'm loading and playing with no problems, must've missed something when I was messing around with it today.. oh well, back to Evercracking :)
