help with browser
 

hello. i'm running the full DrumsUI and have all files updated.

when i open the browser in game it displays a blank page and doesn't display any website. it was working properly before.

is there some other setting i need to adjust?

not sure how to fix so thought i would check here before i try to reinstall.

I just double-checked and all the browser tabs still work fine for me. So, the XML file itself seems to be fine.

You might delete or rename the eq2ui_mainhud_browser.xml file in the DrumsUI directory and re-update. Also, make sure your toon is actually using the correct UI.

Question: does it display the Web site when you select a bookmark or enter a URL? The browser does come up to a blank window when you run it via the /browser command, that's normal behavior and differs from when it's started via a UI button or menu. It can also vary depending on how the window was last closed/hidden: if I used the Close button the UI button opens it back up to the home page, whereas if I minimized it to hide it it'll open back up to the page it was on when hidden.

Think you have to set a page as a homepage first if you want one to show by default.

it doesn't go to any web page. it pulls up the browser and shows the blank UI window when i click on the search function from the quest helper window.

i also tried typing in a url and click the go button and nothing happens.

in the eq2 game options i have the home page set to a webpage and that doesn't seem to be working either.

i'm also seeing that eq2ui_mainhud_browser.xml file in more than one location in my file system so i also think it might be time for a fresh install.

did some more poking around and it turns out that i have more than one install of the game which i think was from when i was having problems with the launcher a while back. the drums ui updater was pointing to the wrong folder.

looks like it's working now. yay!
