Test server help

Hi there,

I've been using EQ2 maps for awhile now and enjoy the program but i've been playing lately on the test server and now have a high enough toon to where i am getting into zones with no maps like Great Divide.

EQ2 maps works fine on the two regular servers i play on (Everfrost and Unrest) but i can't pull up maps in higher level zones on test

I've looked like crazy on the forums and could not find anything to help me.
Right now on the EQ2map program i am using the UI Directory (Defalt_Blue)

Thanks for any help.

Your test server install is a separate thing from your default install. If you go in to options on the EQ2MAP updater you can point it to your test server install (which is likely a full copy of EQ2 inside the Test Server folder of your regular install for the old patcher -- for the new patcher it may be an entirely different spot) to have it update there.

Alternatively if you're more tech-savvy there's ways of having windows link your EQ2MAP folder in your test server ui directory to your actual one so that when you update your normal one the other is updated. Look up symbolic links if you're looking to go that path and are tech savvy.

I'm not tech savvy at all i'm afraid.
I do understand what you have typed but i don't know what i should actually put in the Launch File 2 i assume in the options window on EQ2 maps?

Edit: I use the old patcher to play the game and test server as well

Okay, it's super easy with the old patcher. If you find the EQ2MAP updater in your start menu it should have a second shortcut for the test server. Use that one when you want to update the maps on the test server.

I thought i'd had it but i'm still confused.

When you mean old patcher do you mean the patcher for Eq2maps or the game? And if it's the eq2map updater i don't know what to change in the options. I've played around with it but i am lost now.

The program works fine on the live servers but not on the test server atm

I've tried my best i'm still not where i want to be

I deleted everything out of the regular server and test server UI.
Then i let the game download what it wanted to
Then i re-installed EQ2maps and let it update.
Then i copied everything over in the UI folder to the test server UI folder

The regular server is fine but the test server is not complete
From what i've looked up online i need to also copy the eq2.ini file
I can't not find that file.
Still looking for help and thanks.

One thing i did not think of. Would the test server POI not be the same as the regular servers?
As of now i get the few POI Sony deemed we should have and i get the blue parts of the map where i need to go for quest updates but not the POI the regular server has.

Just curious

Did you try this?
Looks like you use the old launcher so this should work.
You should not need to create a eq2.ini file as the updater do it for you.
